What to consider when shopping for a non-toxic slow cooker?

Not sure how to select the best nontoxic slow cooker for your kitchen? Here are 05 factors to consider:

  1. Material:

Ceramic cookers are usually nontoxic and safe. But some cookers have lead coatings to make them non-sticky, which is unhealthy.

You should look for ceramic pots with stainless steel or aluminum coating. While stainless steel heats up first, aluminum distributes the heat more efficiently and evenly.

  1. Capacity:

Most slow cookers are from 6 quarts to 10 quarts. 6 or 8 quarts cookers are good for small to medium-sized families.

But if you have a larger family or often need to cook for a lot of members, then 10 quarts size is enough.

  1. Footprint:

You also need to consider how much space the cooker will take in your kitchen. The size of the countertops and cabinets are some of the things you need to measure and compare. If you have a small kitchen, getting a small cooker is better, and vice versa.

  1. Functions:

You should take a look at the convenient functions and features before purchasing a slow cooker. Does it have a timer? How many temperature options are available? Can you lock the lid? These are some questions to ask.

  1. Apps and programmable slow cookers:

Programmable slow cookers give you better control of the cooking. You can set different time limits for different heat settings.

These cookers usually have a timer to prevent foods from overcooking and getting burnt. You can control some of the slow cookers using a smartphone app, which is also pretty convenient.
